Fall is for Brooding
This is my absolute favorite place in the world. East side of Presque Isle, just around the corner from Black Rocks. I've been coming to this spot for over two decades, often when I need to unravel some tangled thoughts. It's the perfect place to sit and brood, especially on a gray, blustery day.
Fall is the best time to brood, to slow down and turn inward after the busy, external life of the warmer months. There's a purifying quality to the harshness of the weather. The light fades and falls at sharp angles, bringing things into high contrast and focus. It's wrapping up and letting go, letting things lie dormant until the sun's power returns. This is all both literal and metaphor.
Ink on Paper
It felt great to get into the studio this past week and just clean up. Put type away from forms that were locked up back in August. Wipe stuff down and get ready for the next round of prints, which will likely be another series of cards, including some holiday ones. September was such a sprint that I needed a few weeks to catch my breath.

Hopefully will have more on this in the next newsletter!
Other Rambles
All my extra time has pretty much been going into getting the exterior of our sauna finished before the weather turns. It's coming along really well, and everything on the outside will be finished by the end of next week!

See you out there,
